Reviews are done by Jim Matt, our Head Brewer, who is also a veteran FoBAB judge, GABF judge, and BJCP Master judge.

Andromeda (5.7%, 48 IBU) is a single hopped pale ale featuring the Galaxy hop. First brewed in 2014 we enjoyed the complex flavor profile so much we brought it back and in 22oz rarities again too!

Malts: Pale Ale, Wheat and Vienna malt

Hops: Galaxy

Andromeda is not just a pale ale, but single hopped, can you tell us more about the galaxy hop?

Galaxy is a distinctive hop from Australia. It has some notes of citrus, peach and passion fruit.

What are your notable characteristics of this beer?

The drinker will get a blast of peach on the hop aroma and a fairly complex hop forward flavor to it.

What makes you want to drink this beer?

It is fairly high on the hop intensity scale without being too alcoholic.

Appearance: Medium gold color with a slight haze and white persistent head.

Smell: Peach, apricot and citrus notes dominate the nose.

Taste: Similar to the aroma, peachy, citrusy with a hint of mango. Low malt flavor and medium bitterness round this out.
